Sunday’s Bandstand Marathon concluded our summer season which has had some highs, lows, and rain. Luckily for the final event, the sun stayed out for us to fill the bandstand and play in Waunfawr Park. Some photos have been added to the Gallery and videos are slowly being fed onto YouTube. If you have any photos of the Bandstand Marathon, or any event that the band has performed, please send them to us so we can display them.
A big thank you goes out to all of the band members, supporters and their families for making the effort to put on a good show. Also thank you to Oakdale Band for playing the second half of the Bandstand Marathon. Positive comments were made by listeners about both band’s performances.
As we head into Autumn, we hope to take the sunshine with us while we work on the test piece for the next event in the calendar, Blaenavon Contest.
We’re part way through the 1st day of a long weekend in Cardiff Castle. There’s lots of stuff going on, other than us playing of course.
Compared to this morning, the weather has cleared up and the sun is shining.
If you can’t make it down before 5, we’ll be playing from 11 tomorrow.
Having not played at Cardiff Castle for more than a month due to July’s concerts being cancelled, it clearly showed how much we enjoy performing at the venue during Sunday’s performance. The smile on Musical Director, Kerry Bowden‘s face said it all but he also said…
Today was a great success, good weather, good playing, an appreciative audience…
Although some players were borrowed from other bands, for whom we are very grateful, it really was an enjoyable experience to make music for an audience again in the sunny surroundings of the castle.
We are playing again on the 25th and 26th August in Cardiff Castle.
Please also let us know if you are interesting in joining us, we are still on the look out for new players!
