A Salford Sinfonietta was left on the stands in a deserted practice room yesterday, for one night only while the band members entered the rugby club for entertainment, drinks, karaoke and most of all, the 2010 presentation evening.
Starting with the younger members of the band. 2nd corner player, Ellis Davies, took the Junior Progress Prize while Junior Player of the Year was handed to Kelsey-Jane Vaux. This award goes hand in hand with Kelsey-Jane’s promotion to the front row from 2nd cornet.
Putting up with the losses and movements within the Front Row and not letting it phase her, principal cornet, Karla Howe received the Progress Prize. The man that’s happy to play any solo without batting an eyelid, solo horn, Steve Davies accepted Player of the Year while the Trombone Section – Ian Howe, Chris Gardner and Gavin Griffiths won best section and proudly took the John Redman Memorial Cup.
